LAHORE: One person burnt to death while two people got serious injuries in fire incident in Lahore on Saturday.
Two people were reported jumping from the building in a bid to escape the fire at MM Alam road Lahore plaza. Both the injured were shifted to the hospital for immediate treatment.
Later on, one of the injured succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased breathed his last during treatment at the Services Hospital, the medical superintendent (MS) of the hospital confirmed.
“Every single person was rescued from the building,” the provincial information minister Fayaz ul Hasan Chohan said while speaking to the media.
The local administration said that the fire has been extinguished at the basement of the plaza and the procedural cooling process has been completed.
Chohan further said that the plaza was owned by the former chief minister Shehbaz Sharif’s son-in-law.
Lahore Deputy Commissioner Captain (retd) Anwarul Haq said that the fire brigade personnel immediately arrived after the blaze erupted at the building’s basement.
