At least seven people, including two passersby, were killed and six people, including two women, got seriously injured when the two rival groups traded gunfire over a monetary dispute on the first day of Eidul Azha (Wednesday).
According to the Toru police station, the two armed groups exchanged harsh words over some monetary dispute in Toru village which led to heavy gunfire. The first group was led by Khan Ghalib and his sons Sajid, Abid and Hamid while other group was led by Saddam, Ali Sher and Ikram. As a result, seven people were killed and six, including two women, were injured.
The dead were identified as Mubasir Hussain, Mohammad Hussain, Raj Wali, Sabir, Sartaj, and passersby Badiu Zaman and Fazle Rehman while the injured were identified as Ikram Hussain, Izhar Ali, Shahzad Sartaj, Musa, Dil Afzala and Tamiya.
The police shifted the injured to the hospital immediately while the District Police Officer (DPO), Hafiz Wahid Mahmood, reached the spot and ordered a thorough investigation of the incident.
The police said that they registered two separate First Information Reports (FIRs) of the incident. The first FIR was filed by Dil Afzal, the wife of Raj Wali, charging Saddam, Ali Sher, Ikram Hussain and Zahoor while the second FIR was filed by the injured, Ikram Hussain, charging Khan Ghalib and his sons Sajid, Abid and Hamid.
