ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday summoned records of all the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) appointments and promotions.
A three-judge bench of the apex court headed by Justice Amir Muslim Hani conducted the hearing of the case about illegal appointments of officials in NAB. During the hearing, Attorney General Ashtar Ausaf told the court that all the NAB’s appointments would be reviewed legally.
Justice Hani observed that the civil services’ officials cannot merge in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) as it enjoyed more powers regarding promotions and recruitments than the Public Service Commission.
The apex court also said that the matter – of merging officials in NAB who came in deputation – would be reviewed and the attorney general would assist the court in this regard.
The court later expressed that it was dissatisfied with KPK NAB Director General Saleem Shahzad – who apologised after the court’s reprimanded.
