ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said on Thursday that the government is going nowhere.
He said that some elements have been trying to dislodge the government for the last three and a half years but it stands its grounds. The present government has been working for the nation’s progress and development and no one can prevent it, said Asif.
He said that the court had given them time till Monday to file reply – indicating that it will constitute a one-man commission to investigate the matter. The minister said that they also want to take the country out of crisis which is why they presented themselves before the court for accountability.
He said that the government respects the court and will accept its verdict, saying the people should wait for the court’s decision instead of taking to the roads and making the citizen’s life difficult.
The minister – while replying to Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s comment – said that the ruling party doesn’t get money from shrines and that they face their problems at the frontlines with the common workers instead of doing push ups in front of media.
Railways Minister Khawaj Saad Rafiq – while referring to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan – said that the case is now before the court and it will decide the matter.
He advised the PTI chairman to remain peaceful and allow people to fulfil their responsibilities by saying, ‘go to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and serve the people instead of leading them to protests’.
